Career and Communication
GSPS: Career & Communication is a resource supporting graduate students in the Pratt School of Engineering through courses, workshops, and coaching. The team provides help with oral and written communication for academic and professional contexts, as well as career exploration and search strategies for a student's next step—internship, job, or further education. The team also partners with alumni and employers to offer student-facing events for Pratt’s master’s students.
Graduate Student Groups
Your experience outside of the classroom is just as important as your experience inside the classroom. There are many ways to get involved, make a difference, and connect with fellow students at the Pratt School of Engineering.
Pratt has a variety of student groups within individual departments, as well as school-wide organizations such as the Master’s Programs Student Advisory Board and Engineering Graduate Student Council, which bring together students across all programs and departments. In addition, the Duke Graduate and Professional Student Government connects and advocates for all graduate and professional students across Duke University.
Beyond academic organizations, there are many opportunities across the university to pursue your interests from athletics and wellness activities to arts, entertainment, and community engagement. There is truly something for everyone.

Graduate Student Affairs
Graduate Student Affairs is dedicated to supporting the success and well-being of graduate and professional students at the Pratt School of Engineering. From the moment students arrive through graduation, the team focuses on supporting the full graduate student experience—not only academic success, but also the personal, professional, and community aspects of life at Duke University.
Graduate Student Affairs provides personalized support to help students navigate the opportunities and challenges of graduate school. This includes wellness coaching to help students manage stress, build resilience, and maintain balance, as well as academic success planning to support goal setting, time management, and overall progress.
The team also creates opportunities for leadership development and encourages students to grow beyond the classroom by building skills that will serve them throughout their careers. Equally important is fostering a strong sense of community within the Pratt School of Engineering, helping students feel connected, supported, and engaged throughout their time at Duke.
Graduate Student Affairs aims to meet students where they are—serving as a resource, sounding board, and partner throughout the graduate journey.
